Hello. I am running 26 inch mudlights on my 2006 Arctic Cat 400 Automatic. I have Snorkels, and some clutch work done. I also properly jetted my bike and it runs perfect. I'm looking at either 26 inch msts or 27 inch msts. Has anyone ran these tires or no of anyone running them? People say they are better then the mudlights but i thought i would search around a few forums first before i go spend some money. thank you.

What type of terrain do you mostly ride in Splint? The MST's are a great all terrain tire, if not the best. But there are some other choices that will yield better performance in specific types of terrain.

A good part of my riding is mud, water, muskeg.. id say about 60% the rest is trails, and roads and what not..

While I don't have any real experience with the Muskeg that you have up there, I've got a bit of seat time on both tires and from my experience with them the only area that the Mudlites were better in was sand. The MSTs didn't like sand a whole lot, but weren't as bad as say a Swamplite or Vampire, whereas the Mudlites are extremely good in sand. Mud performance is better with the MSTs, and would be even better if you went with the wide MSTs on all 4s, many people I know that have tried them swear by this setup and say that they don't steer much if any harder with the wides on the front. The wide MSTs have a more open tread pattern then the skinnys that cleans out better which is partially why the all wides setup would be the best for mud. The MSTs are also very smooth riding tires, but coming off Mudlites you're prob not gonna notice much difference there.

The MST's are a better choice then what you already have, but from my experiences, the Interco Swamplites should outperform the MST's in the given conditions (or at least muskeg). I have ridden with a few people who have ran the MST's (various sizes) and none could keep up with me in the muskeg (I used to run the 29.5' Swamplite). But, it's not to say that a different rider could yield different results, but I am informing you off of my experiences. The Interco Swamplite will perform to an acceptable level in the average mud hole. If you get into the heavier, thicker mud holes, then the Interco Swamplite will clog up and leave you spinning. I wouldn't recommend them for any heavy mud riding & usage. As for the trails and road, they are a great tire. They handle good, give an excellent ride and have good wear characteristics. I would personally choose the MST's if you have a vast selection of terrain. If you ride a lot of muskeg specifically, then I would definitely look at the Interco Swamplite. As for size, I would stick with a 26' tire being that you have a 400. The 27' isn't going to give you much more ground clearance (.5 of an inch if lucky), and will rob a bit more power. Good luck on your decision

I've run Swamplites before too, and I really liked them also. They are a much better tire then some people give them credit for imo, expecially the 29.5s. They are one of the best climbing tires out there, and ride smooth as silk also. They will wear about the same as your Mudlites, but will be a good bit tougher as far as puncture resistance, I found out really quick that a plug kit was a neccessity when I was running Mudlites.

I would recommend sticking with a 26' tire. If you need extra ground clearance, I would invest in an appropriate lift kit.
